  • Memories From The MoMA

In 1997, I was working as a designer in New York City and visited the MoMA on my lunch hour one day to view a modern still life exhibit. Picasso's 'Still Life with Pitcher and Apples' really captivated me. It was that plate of apples sitting on top of that super curvy pitcher that inspired me. I had never seen this piece in my art history class or any of the art books I owned. I loved how fresh and casual it was for a still life. It made me feel like he actually had fun painting it. Even though it was painted in 1919, it still looks modern. I bought a poster of the Picasso still life at the museum gift shop that day and it still hangs in my house today!

Original 12x24" oil painting by Kerry Hastings Hogan.
Painted on 1 1/2" deep stretched gallery-wrapped canvas.
Hardware and wire are included and it's ready to hang.

The painting is signed on the front and signed and dated on the back. Each oil painting is varnished to provide surface protection.
